Gramnmy Award-winning singer/songwriter and producer Blake Mills is contributing original music for the upcoming Deep Cuts. The film is written and directed by Sean Durkin (The Iron Claw, The Nest) and will star Cailee Spaeny and Drew Starkey. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Holly Brickley tells the love story between two music-obsessed twenty-somethings and follows the couple as they navigate the messy realities of ambition, belonging and adulthood over the course of an era-defining decade. Durkin is also producing the A24 production with Eli Bush (Lady Bird, Eighth Grade), Ronald Bronstein & Josh Safdie (Uncut Gems, Marty Supreme), Anthony Katagas (12 Years a Slave, Ad Astra) and Jordan Tappis (Severance, The First). Mills has previously served as the executive music producer on Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & the Six. Deep Cuts is set to begin production in February of 2026. (Deadline)
