INNI has released a soundtrack album for the Icelandic thriller The Fires (Eldarnir). The album features the film’s original music composed by Herdís Stefansdóttir (Trap, Knock at the Cabin, Y: The Last Man, The Essex Serpent, The Sun Is Also a Star, We’re Here). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s end creits after the jump. The Fires is co-written and directed by Ugla Hauksdóttir and stars Vigdís Hrefna Pálsdóttir, Pilou Asbæk, Jóhann G. Jóhannsson, Ingvar E. Sigurdsson, Sigurður Sigurjónsson and Guðmundur Ólafsson. The movie revolves around Iceland’s top volcanologist who faces two disasters at once: a volcanic eruption that threatens the safety of the capital city and a love affair that could destroy her marriage. The thriller opened in Icelandic theaters this past September. No word yet on a domestic release.
