French electronic music producer/DJ Surkin is reteaming with director Romain Gavras (The World Is Yours, Our Day Will Come) on the upcoming British/Greek satirical thriller Sacrifice. Together with Gavras himself, under their multidisciplinary collaborative project Gener8ion, they have composed the original music for the film starring Chris Evans, Anya Taylor-Joy, Salma Hayek Pinault, Vincent Cassel, John Malkovich, Charli XCX, Ambika Mod and Jonatan “Yung Lean” Leandoer. The movie takes place during an environmental conference/benefit that gets disrupted – first by celebrities  – and then by eco-terrorists. Gavras also co-wrote the screenplay with Will Arbery. He is also producing the project with Robert Walak (The Penguin Lessons, Weekender), Jacob Perlin (Swan Song), Gregory Jankilevitsch (Ann Lee, Woman Of), Klaudia Śmieja-Rostworowska (Lamb, High Life) and Giorgos Karnavas (Hot Milk). Surkin & Gavras have previously scored the director’s last feature, Athena, as Gener8ion. Sacrifice is premiering today at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
