Composer Dara Taylor (Ironheart, The Invitation, Straw, The Tender Bar, Meet Me Next Christmas, The Noel Diary, Echo Boomers) is reuniting with director Josh Greenbaum (Will & Harper, Becoming Bond) on the upcoming sports comedy The Dink. The film stars Jake Johnson as a washed-up tennis pro who, desperate to save a struggling club and earn his father’s respect, is compelled to break a sacred vow and do the unthinkable: play pickleball. Mary Steenburgen, Ben Stiller, Ed Harris, Chloe Fineman, Aaron Chen, Chris Parnell, Patton Oswalt, Christine Taylor, as well as tennis champions Andy Roddick & John McEnroe are also starring in the movie. Sean Clements (Unstable) wrote the screenplay. Stiller is also producing the project with John Lesher (Severance, Birdman) for Red Hour Films, alongside Rob Paris (Nutcrackers, The Blackcoat’s Daughter) and Mike Witherill (John Wick) for Rivulet Entertainment.Taylor has previously scored Greenbaum’s last two narrative features, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar (with Christopher Lennertz) and Strays. The Dink will premiere in the coming months on Apple TV+.
