Elcrow Music has released a soundtrack album for the South Korean animated feature The Square. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jeong Yong-jin (Woman Is the Future of Man, Woman on the Beach, Gaby Baby Doll, Oki’s Movie). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. The Square is directed by Kim Bo-sol and stars Jeon Woon-jong, Lee Chan-yong and Lee Ga-young. The movie tells the story of a Swedish diplomat in Pyongyang who – after his secret lover disappears – seeks the help of his interpreter to locate her and becomes increasingly suspicious of everyone. The animated romance premiered at this year’s Far East Film Festival (and also screened at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival) and is being released in South Korean theaters today. No word yet on a release date.
