Chris Bacon (Wednesday, Heretic, Source Code, Bates Motel, Gnomeo & Juliet, Men in Black: International, 65, The Tick) has composed the original music for the upcoming sci-fi/horror sequel M3GAN 2.0. The film is written and directed by Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) and stars Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Amie Donald, Jen Van Epps, Jenna Davis, Aristotle Athari, Ivanna Sakhno, Timm Sharp and Jemaine Clement. The movie is set two years after events of the original film and follows Gemma who has to resurrect M3GAN after the the robotic doll’s underlying technology has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon. Williams is also producing the project with Atomic Monster’s James Wan (Aquaman, The Conjuring) and Blumhouse’s Jason Blum (Get Out, Halloween). Anthony Willis has previously scored Johnstone’s original 2023 movie. M3GAN 2.0 will be released in theaters nationwide on June 27 by Universal Pictures.
Bacon also continues to score Netflix’s Wednesday, which will return for its second season on August 6.
Shame Anthony Willis didn’t come back, but I liked Bacon’s work on Wednesday, so we’ll see.
