La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1991 crime drama Thelma & Louise directed by Ridley Scott and starring Susan Sarandon, Geena Davis, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Macdonald, Michael Madsen and Brad Pitt. The album features the newly remastered (and slightly expanded) original score from the MGM production composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (Dune, The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, Man of Steel, Rain Man). Also included are several alternate and film version bonus tracks, as well as a 2000 concert suite demo. The CD is limited to 1,500 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release. Kritzerland and Notefornote Music have previously released the premiere score albums, while MCA Recordshas released the original 1991 soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie, as well as Zimmer’s Thunderbird track. Thelma & Louise is now available on VOD and (as part of the Criterion Collection) Blu-ray & 4K Ultra HD.
