Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Friend. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jay Wadley (Heart Eyes, I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Tell Me Lies, Swan SongFranklinIndignation) & Trevor Gureckis (ServantOld, The Goldfinch, The Crowded Room, Dead SpaceVoyagers). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, April 11 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. The Friend is written and directed by Scott McGehee & David Siegeland stars Naomi Watts, Bill Murray, Constance Wu, Sarah Pidgeon, Ann Dowd, Noma Dumezweni, Felix Solis, Carla Gugino and Owen Teague. The movie based on Sigrid Nunez’s novel of the same title follows a New York writer in the aftermath of her friend and mentor’s unexpected death as she has to deal with his eccentric ex-wives, his complicated literary legacy, – and a massive Great Dane named Apollo. The drama, which premiered at last year’s  Toronto International Film Festival, was released in theaters nationwide last weekend by Bleecker Street.
