Composer Frederik Wiedmann (The Dragon Prince, Batman: Caped Crusader, Star Trek: Picard, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Doom: Annihilation, Big Nate) Star Trek: Picard, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Doom: Annihilation, Big Nate) is reteaming with director Luke Sparke on the upcoming Australian sci-fi/horror action movie Primitive War. The film is written and directed by Sparke (Occupation) and stars Ryan Kwanten, Tricia Helfer, Nick Wechsler, Aaron Glenane, Anthony Ingruber and Jeremy Piven. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Ethan Pettus is set in Vietnam, 1968 and follows the members of a recon unit known as Vulture Squad who are sent to an isolated jungle valley to uncover the fate of a missing Green Beret platoon, but soon discover they are not alone. Sparke is also producing the project with Carmel Imrie and Carly Sparke. Wiedmann has previously scored Sparke’s last couple of features, including Occupation: Rainfall and Bring Him to Me. Primitive War is expected to be released later this year.
