Decca Records has released a soundtrack album for the British comedy drama The Ballad of Wallis Island. The album features the film’s original songs written by co-writer and lead actor Tom Basden and performed by Basen & Carey Mulligan (as the musical duo McGwyer Mortimer). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the first three tracks after the jump. The Ballad of Wallis Island is directed by James Griffiths and stars Basden, Mulligan, Tim Key (who also co-wrote the screenplay), Sian Clifford and Akemnji Ndifornyen. The movie follows an eccentric lottery winner living on a remote island who dreams of getting his favorite musicians back together. His fantasy turns into reality when the bandmates and former lovers accept his invitation to play a private show at his home. The dramedy premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being released in select U.S. theaters this weekend before arriving in the UK on May 30.
