Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead ReckoningBlack Widow, His Dark MaterialsThe Wheel of Time, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Top Gun: Maverick) has recently scored the new horror thriller The Woman in the Yard. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise, Non-Stop) and stars Danielle Deadwyler, Okwui Okpokwasili, Russell Hornsby, Estella Kahiha and Peyton Jackson. The movie centers follows a woman crippled by grief after she survives a car accident that takes her husband who now must care for their 14-year-old son and 6-year-old-daughter, when – one day – a lone, spectral woman shrouded entirely in black appears on their front lawn without explanation. Sam Stefanak wrote the screenplay. Jason Blum (Get Out, Halloween) is producing the Blumhouse production with Stephanie Allain (Hustle & Flow, Black Snake Moan). Balfe has previously collaborated with Jaume Collet-Serra on the director’s last two features Black Adam and Carry-On. The Woman in the Yard will be released in theaters nationwide this coming Friday, March 28 by Universal Pictures.

Balfe’s other upcoming feature projects include Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which will be released in theaters nationwide on May 23 by Paramount Pictures. He has also recently scored Michael Bay’s We Are Storror and co-scored Babak Anvari’s Hallow Road , both of which premiered this month at the SXSW Film Festival and are currently awaiting release dates.
