Neon announced today that singer/songwriter Ty Segall is set to score the upcoming comedy The Wrong Girls. The film is written and directed by Dylan Meyer (Moxie) and stars Kristen Stewart, Alia Shawkat, Seth Rogen, Kumail Nanjiani, LaKeith Stanfield, Tony Hale and Zack Fox. The movie follows two best friends living paycheck to paycheck, when a case of mistaken identity throws their lives into chaos. Stewart and Meyer are also producing the project with Maggie McLean for Nevermind Pictures, alongside Alex McAtee (Pam & Tommy), James Weaver, Rogen & Evan Goldberg (This Is the End, The Interview) for Point Grey, as well as Allison Carter (A Vigilante, The Adults) and Jon Read for Savage Rose Productions. Segall has previously scored the features Whirlybird and A Desert (which premiered at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival and has been picked up by Dark Sky Films for a domestic release this year), as well as several shorts. The Wrong Girls is currently shooting in Los Angeles. No release date has been announced yet.
