Dragon’s Domain Records has announced a new soundtrack album featuring the world premiere release of three scores from 1960/70s cult horror movies. Titles on the album include 1967’s The Shuttered Room directed by David Greene and starring Gig Young & Carol Lynley featuring music by Basil Kirchin (I Start Counting, Assignment K), 1974’s The Deathhead Virgin directed by Norman Foster and starring Jock Gaynor, Larry Ward & Diane McBain feat. music by Richard LaSalle (Twice Told Tales, Flight That Disappeared, Ambush Bay), as well as 1962’s Hand of Death directed by Gene Nelson and starring John Agar, Paula Raymond, Stephen Dunne & John A. Alonzo feat. music by Sonny Burke. The Golden Age of Horror – Vol. 2 is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the release. A digital version is also expected to come out in the coming weeks. The Shuttered Room is now available to purchase on DVD (as a Warner Archive Collection release coupled with It).
The label’s other new releases include The Gil Mellé Collection Vol. 2 featuring two scores written by the Golden Globe nominated composer of The Andromeda Strain: the 1985 thriller Hot Target directed by Dennis C. Lewiston and starring Simone Griffeth & Bryan Marshall and the 1984 television movie Jealousy written and directed by Jeffrey Bloom and starring Angie Dickinson, Paul Michael Glaser & Bo Svenson, as well as the premiere soundtrack release for the 1968 comedy The Private Navy of Sgt. O’Farrell directed by Frank Tashlin and starring Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller & Jeffrey Hunter featuring music by Harry Sukman (Salem’s Lot, Fanny, The Singing Nun)
