Mercury Records has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the 1965 drama The Slender Thread directed by Sydney Pollack and starring Sidney Poitier, Anne Bancroft, Telly Savalas, Ed Asner and Steven Hill. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Quincy Jones (The Color Purple, Roots, In Cold Blood, In the Heat of the Night, The Italian JobMackenna’s Gold). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and most other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. Jones’ score has previously been released as a vinyl edition when the movie opened in theaters in 1965 and as part of the The Cinema of Quincy Jones 6-CD set in 2016. The Slender Thread is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
