Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Sky/Peacock original series The Day of the Jackal. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Volker Bertelmann (All Quiet on the Western Front, Conclave, Hotel Mumbai, Lion, Adrift, One Life, Patrick Melrose, The Old Guard, Ammonite). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 13. The streaming/download link will be added to this page later this week. As previously reported, available separately as a digital single is Celeste’s opening title song This Is Who I Am. The Day of the Jackal is developed by Ronan Bennett based on Frederick Forsyth’s novel of the same title and stars Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch, Úrsula Corberó, Lia Williams, Richard Dormer, Charles Dance, Khalid Abdalla, Chukwudi Iwuji, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi and Florisa Kamara. The thriller follows a lone assassin as he meets his match in a British intelligence officer who starts to track down the Jackal in a cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The series premiered last month in the UK on Sky Atlantic and in the U.S. on Peacock and has already been renewed for a second season.
