Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Nickel Boys. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alex Somers (Captain FantasticHoney Boy, Causeway, FreshAloha, Together, Together, Charm City KingsDawson City: Frozen Time) & Scott Alario (Hale County This Morning, This Evening). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 6. The streaming/download link will be added to this page later this week. Nickel Boys is co-written and directed by RaMell Ross and stars Ethan Herisse, Brandon Wilson, Fred Hechinger, Hamish Linklater, Daveed Diggs and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor. The movie is based on the book of the same title by Colson Whitehead and follows an idealistic high schooler whose aims of attending college are upended when racist law officials falsely accuse him of a crime and he gets sent to an abusive reformatory school, where he forms a friendship and strikes up an alliance with another teen.The drama premiered at this year’s Telluride Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on December 13 by Orion Pictures.
