Because Music has released a soundtrack album for the French crime thriller The Kingdom (Le Royaume). The album features the film’s original score composed by Audrey Ismaël (The Path of Excellence, Consent, Germinal, Gloria, Chacun pour tous). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. The Kingdom is co-written and directed by Julien Colonna and stars Ghjuvanna Benedetti and Saveriu Santucci. The movie is set over one sweltering summer on the French island of Corsica and follows a teenager who reconnects with her father, a local mob boss in hiding, and – together – go on the run from both mobsters and the police, forging an close-knit bond that will ultimately force the daughter to choose between joining or escaping her father’s legacy. The thriller premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is opening in French theaters today. Metrograph Pictures has picked up domestic distribution rights for a release in U.S. theaters in the coming months.
