The Newton Brothers (X-Men ’97, Doctor Sleep, The Haunting of Hill House, Five Nights at Freddy’s, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Forever Purge) are reuniting with director Steven C. Miller (Silent Night, Marauders) on the upcoming horror thriller Werewolves. The film starring Frank Grillo, Katrina Law, Ilfenesh Hadera, James Michael Cummings & Lou Diamond Phillips is set in a world, where a supermoon event triggers a latent gene in every human on the planet, turning anyone who entered the moonlight into a werewolf for that one night, and follows two scientists as they try to survive a worldwide werewolf apocalypse. Matthew Kennedy (Inheritance, Canary Black) wrote the screenplay. Miller is also producing the project with Myles Nestel & Craig Chapman (Honest Thief, Blacklight), Cummings, Jim Cardwell (Not Another Church Movie), Luillo Ruiz (Plane, Fortress) and Sevier Crespo. The Newton Brothers have previously collaborated with the director on the features Escape Plan 2: Hades and Line of Duty. Werewolves will be released in theaters nationwide on December 6, 2024 by Briarcliff Entertainment & The Solution Entertainment Group.
The composers’ other upcoming projects include Marvel’s Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again (to premiere in March, 2025), Season 2 of X-Men ’97 and the second season of Disney+’s Goosebumps, entitled Goosebumps: The Vanishing, which is set to debut on January 10, 2025. They have also recently scored Mike Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck, which premiered last month at the Toronto International Film Festival and has been picked up by Neon for a theatrical release in 2025, as well as the second season of Prime Video’s The Devil’s Hour, which will debut tomorrow.
