Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for Francis Ford Coppola’s sci-fi drama Megalopolis. The album features the film’s original music composed by Osvaldo Golijov (Youth Without Youth, The Man Who Cried, Twixt, The Oath). Also included are two original songs (My Pledge & No Turning Around) written and performed by Grace VanderWaal who stars as Vesta Sweetwater, as well as additional compositions by Jeremy Flower, Cyro Baptista, Jamey Haddad & others. Megalopolis is written and directed by Coppola and stars Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Jon Voight, Shia LaBeouf, Kathryn Hunter, Laurence Fishburne and Dustin Hoffman. The movie is being described as a “Roman Epic set in an imagined Modern America” and centers on the conflict between a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition who remains committed to a regressive status quo, special interests, perpetuating greed, and partisan warfare. The drama premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is being released in theaters this weekend by Lionsgate.
