Nate Heller (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Can You Ever Forgive Me?) has provided the original score for the upcoming romantic comedy Turn Me On. The film is directed by Michael Tyburski (The Sound of Silence) and stars Bel Powley, Nick Robinson, Justin H. Min, D’Arcy Carden, Luke Kirby, Nesta Cooper, Patti Harrison and Griffin Newman. The movie is set in a community where the inconvenience of human emotion has been eradicated by a single daily vitamin and revolves around a young couple who skip their dose and discover love, joy, sex and all the baggage that comes with it. Angela Bourassa (If You Were the Last, Black Bags) wrote the screenplay. Sean Bradley (Paddleton, Asperger’s Are Us), Zareh Nalbandian (Peter Rabbit, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole), Toby Nalbandian and Gregory Schmidt are producing the Truant Pictures production. Turn Me On is premiering this week at the 2024 San Sebastian Film Festival.
The composer’s other recent projects include Marie Heller’s Nightbitch, which just premiered this month at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in theaters on December 6 by Searchlight Pictures.
