Composer Scott Bomar (Mississippi Grind, Here Comes Rusty) is reuniting with director Craig Brewer (Coming 2 America, Footloose) on the new Peacock limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist. The show is created by Shaye Ogbonna (God’s Country, Lowlife) and stars Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, Taraji P. Henson, Don Cheadle and Terrence Howard. The 8-parter is based on the iHeart true-crime podcast and tells the infamous story of how an armed robbery on the night of Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight changed not only one man’s life but ultimately transformed Atlanta into the “Black Mecca.” Brewer has directed the first two and final two episodes and is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Ogbonna, Hart, co-showrunner Jason Horwitch (Echo 3, The Calling), as well as Will Packer (Girls Trip, Think Like a Man), Sabrina Wind (Desperate Housewives, Firefly Lane), Bryan Smiley (True Story, Me Time), Mike Stein (Die Hart), Conal Byrne (The Reconstruction of William Zero), Carrie Lieberman , Jeff Keating, Lars Jacobson (Day of the Dead: Bloodline), Erika L. Johnson and Mike Daniels (The Village). Bomar has previously collaborated with Brewer on the features Hustle & Flow, Black Snake Moan and Dolemite Is My Name. Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist will premiere this Thursday, September 5 exclusively on Peacock
