Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Emma, Wicked Little Letters, Vita & Virginia, The Phantom of the Open, Munich: The Edge of War, Roar) is the composer of the upcoming Sky/Starz original series Sweetpea. The show is based C.J. Skuse’s cult novel of the same name and stars Ella Purnell, Nicôle Lecky, Jon Pointing, Calam Lynch, Jeremy Swift, Leah Harvey and Dustin Demri-Burns. The 6-part comedic thriller is directed by Ella Jones and follows a quiet wallflower who develops a vengeful and intoxicatingly liberating taste for murder. Writer Kirstie Swain is executive producing the Sky Studios’ Manpreet Dosanjh (The Midwich Cuckoos, The Lovers), fanboy’s Patrick Walters (Heartstopper, The Essex Serpent), as well as See-Saw Films’ Helen Gregory (Gangs of London, The Child in Time), Iain Canning & Emile Sherman (The King’s Speech, Lion). Sweetpea will premiere this October in the UK on Sky and the streaming service NOW and in the U.S. on Starz.
Waller-Bridge’s other recent projects include the Starz limited series Three Women, which will premiere on September 13. She also composed the music for Sam Yates’ Magpie, which premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and has recently been picked up by Shout! Studios for a release in U.S. theaters later this year.
