Ariel Marx (Shiva Baby, Sanctuary, Candy, A Small Light, A Friend of the Family, The Tale) has recently scored the upcoming documentary Wisdom of Happiness. The film is directed by Barbara Miller & Philip Delaquis and features the 14th Dalai Lama, born Tenzin Gyatso, who officially became the spiritual leader of Tibet at age 4 in 1940, speaking directly to the camera about the universal quest for inner peace and happiness and the potential for a peaceful and happy 21st century. In addition to an interview with the Dalai Lama, the movie also includes unpublished and newly restored archival footage from the Tibetan government archives. Delaquis (Yalom’s Cure, #Female Pleasure) is also producing the project. Richard Gere and Oren Moverman (Rampart, Time Out of Mind) serve as executive producers. Wisdom of Happiness is set to be released theatrically in German-speaking markets this fall and is currently looking for a U.S. distributor. (Variety)
