Composer Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, God of War) is reuniting with director Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats) on the upcoming coming-of-age comedy The 4:30 Movie. The film is written and directed by Smith and stars Austin Zajur, Nicholas Cirillo, Reed Northrup, Siena Agudong and Ken Jeong. The movie is set in the summer of 1986 and follows three 16-year-old friends who spend their Saturdays sneaking into movies at the local multiplex. Liz Destro (Lizzie, The Little Hours), Josh Bachove and Jordan Monsanto (Yoga Hosers, Jay & Silent Bob Reboot) are producing the project. McCreary has previously collaborated with Smith on the Netflix animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation & Revolution. The 4:30 Movie is set to be released in the form of a multi-city national tour in the coming months by Saban Films before opening in theaters nationwide later this year.
McCreary also has the second season of Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (to premiere on August 29), as well as new seasons of Starz’s Outlander, Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Apple TV+’s Foundation coming up.
