Daniel Hart (The Green Knight, A Ghost Story, Pete’s Dragon, The Old Man and the Gun, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, Peter Pan & Wendy, Strange Angel) has recently scored the new Apple TV+ original series Sunny. The show is developed by Katie Robbins based on the book The Dark Manual by Colin O’Sullivan and stars Rashida Jones, Hidetoshi Nishijima, Judy Ongg, Joanna Sotomura, YOU, annie the clumsy and Jun Kunimura. The 10-part mystery comedy drama follows an American woman living in Kyoto, Japan, whose life is upended when her husband and son disappear in a mysterious plane crash and – as a consolation price – is given one of a new class of domestic robots made by her husband’s electronics company. Robbins is producing the project for Babka Pictures, alongside Poppycock Pictures’ Lucy Tcherniak (Angelyne) who also directed multiple epsiodes, as well as Jones, Ravi Nandan (Euphoria, Beef) for A24, Jess Lubben and Nancy Won (Tiny Beautiful Things). Sunny will premiere next Wednesday, July 10 on Apple TV+.
Hart also continues to score AMC’s Interview with the Vampire, which has just been renewed for a third season. He also has David Lowery’s next feature, Mother Mary, coming up.
