British singer/songwriter Laura Mvula is set to make her feature film scoring debut on the upcoming biographical drama The Queen of Fashion. The film is directed by Alex Mark and will star Andrea Riseborough, Emilia Clarke, Richard E. Grant, Fionn O’Shea and Hayley Atwell. The movie details the ups and downs of fashion editor, stylist, and iconoclast Isabella Blow’s life championing unknown and marginalized fashion figures such as Alexander McQueen, Sophie Dahl & Philip Treacy, whom she catapulted to success while struggling with undiagnosed bipolar disorder. Riseborough is also producing the project for Mother Sucker, alongside Matthew Rhodes (Passengers, Cherry) for The Hideaway Entertainment, Elise Freeman (Young Hearts) for Mystic Dawn Media, as well as Robert Ogden Barnum (Margin Call, Miles Ahead) and Catrin Lewis Defis. Mvula has previously co-scored Netflix series Everything Now. No word yet on a production start date for The Queen of Fashion. (Deadline)
