Lucrecia Dalt (The Baby, The Seed) has provided the original score for the upcoming comedy drama On Becoming a Guinea Fowl. The film is written and directed by Rungano Nyoni (I Am Not a Witch) and stars Susan Chardy, Elizabeth Chisela and Henry B.J. Phiri. The movie follows a woman who stumbles across the body of her uncle on an empty road in the middle of the night and – together with her cousins – brings to light the buried secrets of their middle-class Zambian family. Ed Guiney (The Favourite, Room), Andrew Lowe (Poor Things, Chevalier) and Tim Cole (The Swimmers) are producing the BBC Film and Element Pictures production. On Becoming a Guinea Fowl will premiere this month at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and has recently been picked up by A24 for domestic distribution.
