Ali Shaheed Muhammad & Adrian Younge (Luke Cage, Run This Town, Boogie, Power Book III: Raising Kanan) are the composers of the new Apple TV+ original series Sugar. The show is created by Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, The Cell) and stars Colin Farrell, Kirby, Amy Ryan, Anna Gunn, James Cromwell, Nate Corddry, Dennis Boutsikaris, Sydney Chandler and Alex Hernandez. The detective drama follows an American private investigator as he tries to determine what happened to the beloved granddaughter of a legendary Hollywood producer who mysteriously disappeared. Protosevich & Farrell are also executive producing the project with Genre Films’ Audrey Chon (Invasion, Lift) & Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Deadpool), Sam Catlin (Preacher), Scott Greenberg (The Guilty) and Chip Vucelich (Pam & Tommy), as well as Fernando Meirelles (City of God, The Two Popes) who also directed multiple episodes. Sugar will premiere on April 5, 2024 exclusively on Apple TV+.
Younge & Muhammad are also expected to return to score the second season of Onyx Collective’s Hulu series Reasonable Doubt.
