Editions Musicales Francois has released a soundtrack album for the nature documentary Antarctica Calling (Voyage au pôle sud). The album features the film’s original music composed by Cyrille Aufort (March of the Penguins 2: The Next Step, A Royal Affair, Splice, The Other Story, Heart of Oak, Ombline). Antarctica Calling is directed by Luc Jacquet and follows the filmmaker (best known for his 2005 hit March of the Penguins) as he returns to the South Pole (30 years after his first mission), across Patagonia and the southernmost end of the Andes, down to Tierra del Fuego.The documentary, which premiered at this year’s Locarno Film Festival, is being released in French theaters today. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
