Isabella Summers (aka Isa Machine of Florence + the Machine) (Little Fires Everywhere, The Offer, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Sex/Life, Call Jane) is scoring the new Apple TV+ original animated series Strange Planet. The show is created by Dan Harmon (Community, Rick and Morty) & author Nathan W. Pyle based on Pyle’s best-selling graphic novel of the same title and features the voices of Tunde Adebimpe, Demi Adejuyigbe, Lori Tan Chinn, Danny Pudi and Hannah Einbinder. The adult animated comedy is set in a whimsical world of cotton candy pinks & purples and revolves around a group of blue beings as they explore the absurdity of everyday human traditions. Harmon & Pyle are also executive producing the Apple Studios and ShadowMachine production with Alex Bulkley (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Clone High), Corey Campodonico, Lauren Pomerantz (Am I OK?), Amalia Levari, Steve Levy and Taylor Alexy Pyle. Strange Planet will premiere on Wednesday, August 9 on Apple TV+.
As previously reported, Summers also has the horror comedy Lisa Frankenstein, the animated feature Hitpig, as well as the third and final season of Apple TV+’s Physical coming up.
