Will Butler (of Arcade Fire) will make his solo feature scoring debut on the upcoming thriller Lips Like Sugar. The film will be directed by Brantley Gutierrez and is set to star Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson. The movie is set during the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and tells the story of two teenage girls from different walks of life and two former detectives whose lives become intertwined when one of the girls goes missing. Anthony Tambakis (Warrior, Jane Got a Gun) wrote the screenplay. Harrelson is also producing the project with Russ Posternak (Becky, Separation), Kevin Chinoy & Francesca Silvestri (The Florida Project, Starlet), Jeremy Plager (Champions), Greg Lauritano (Borrego, Fairyland), Kyle Schember and Zac Adams (Mainstream). Butler has previously co-scored Spike Jonze’s Her (as part of Arcade Fire). Lips Like Sugar is set to start production later this year. (Deadline)
