Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, The Kominsky Method, White House Plumbers, CSI :Miami, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Just Friends) is composing the original score for the upcoming comedy drama Sitting in Bars with Cake. The film is directed by Trish Sie (Pitch Perfect 3, The Sleepover) and stars Yara Shahidi, Bette Midler, Ron Livingston, Maia Mitchell, Rish Shah, Aaron Dominguez, Odessa A’zion, Martha Kelly, Navid Negahban, Adina Porter, Simone Recasner, Will Ropp, and Charlie Morgan Patton. The movie follows a quiet young woman who discovers an unlikely guy magnet when she bakes a cake for her best friend’s birthday and brings it to a bar, only to be swarmed by men. Audrey Shulman wrote the screenplay based on her blog and book of the same name. Resonate Entertainment’s Susan Cartsonis (What Women Want, The DUFF), Brent Emery (The Stanford Prison Experiment, Carrie Pilby) & Suzanne Farwell (The Intern) are producing the project with All Night Diner’s Nick Moceri (Deidra & Laney Rob a Train). Cardoni has previously collaborated with Sie on her last feature, Players, which is expected to debut this year on Netflix. Sitting in Bars with Cake will premiere this September on Prime Video.
Cardoni also continues to score Starz’s Heels, which will return for its second season on July 28, as well as CBS’ Ghosts, which will return for a third season and Young Sheldon, which has been renewed for a seventh season.
