Randy Edelman (Dragonheart, Ghostbusters II, The Last of the Mohicans, Kindergarten Cop, My Cousin Vinny, xXx, Twins, Gettysburg) has signed on to score the upcoming romantic drama Heart Strings. The film is directed by Ate de Jong (Highway to Hell, The Rotterdam Bombing) and stars Mary Sarah and Sam Varga as two young musicians in Louisville, KY who enter a TV music competition and soon they have to choose what is more important to them: loyalty or fame? The Bellamy Brothers have recorded the project’s theme song (Americana) written by Varga & Kalie Shorr. Steve Gaydos (Road to Nowhere) co-wrote the screenplay and is also producing the Mulholland Films production with Ellis Goodman. Edelman has previously collaborated with de Jong on 1991’s Drop Dead Fred. Heart Strings was shot on location in Kentucky and is currently in post-production. (Screen Daily)
Edelman’s other upcoming projects include Matt Greene-Delanghe’s Skelly , Josh Webber’s Athena Saves Christmas, the documentary Too Hot to Handle: Remembering Ghostbusters II and Jim Towns’ The Beast Inside.
