Paula Olaz (Nora, Crónica de una tormenta) has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish drama In the Company of Women (Las buenas compañías). The album features the composer’s original music from the film and is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. In the Company of Women is co-written and directed by Silvia Munt and stars Alicia Falcó, Itziar Ituño and Elena Tarrats. The movie tells the true story of a group of women from the Basque Country who – during the 1970s – helped pregnant women cross the border into France to secure safe and dignified abortions. The drama opened in Spanish theaters earlier this month. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
In related news, MovieScore Media has recently released Olaz’s score from the Spanish comedy drama Someone Who Takes Care of Me (Alguien que cuide de mí) written and directed by Elvira Lindo & Daniela Féjerman and starring Aura Garrido & Emma Suárez. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Someone Who Takes Care of Me premiered at this year’s Malaga Film Festival and was released in Spanish theaters last month.
