Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Bad Teacher, Daddy’s Home, Bridesmaids, Me and You and Everyone We Know) is scoring the new Apple TV+ original series Platonic. The show is created by Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Bros) and Francesca Delbanco and stars Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Luke Macfarlane, Tre Hale, Andrew Lopez and Carla Gallo. The comedy follows a platonic pair of former best friends approaching midlife who reconnect after a long rift and whose friendship becomes all consuming. Stoller, Delbanco, Byrne, Rogen are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Conor Welch (Panhandle). Andrews has previously scored Stoller’s features The Five-Year Engagement, Neighbors and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, as well as the Stoller- & Delbanco-created Netflix series Friends from College. Platonic will premiere on May 24, 2023 on Apple TV+.
Andrews’ recent project also include Nicole Holofcener’s You Hurt My Feelings, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released in theaters on May 26 by A24.
