Composer Pancho Burgos-Goizueta (Anonymous Killers, People You May Know, Wheels, God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness) is reuniting with director Jon Gunn (Like Dandelion Dust, The Case for Christ) on the upcoming drama Ordinary Angels. The film starring Hilary Swank, Alan Ritchson, Nancy Travis, Drew Powell, Tamala Jones, Amy Acker, Emily Mitchell & Skywalker Hughes tells the true story of a struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters. Actress Meg Tilly and Kelly Fremon Craig (Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, The Edge of Seventeen) wrote the screenplay. Jon & Andrew Erwin (I Can Only Imagine, Jesus Revolution) are producing the Kingdom Company production Jon Berg (Elf, Doctor Sleep), Roy Lee (It, The Lego Movie), Dave Matthews, Johnathan Dorfman (Choke, Joshua), Sarah Johnson (Rules Don’t Apply, Lost Child), David Beal and Kevin Downes (American Underdog, I Still Believe). Ordinary Angels is scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide on October 13, 2023 by Lionsgate.
Burgos-Goizueta has previously scored Gunn’s last feature, The Unbreakable Boy, which was originally set to be released last year and is currently awaiting a new release date.
