Ruth Barrett (Bodyguard, Victoria, The Terminal List, Sanditon, Harry Brown, Collateral) has composed the original music for the new Apple TV+ original nature documentary series Big Beasts. The show is narrated by Tom Hiddleston and takes audiences on a journey around the globe, from freezing poles to tropical rainforests, to meet nature’s most captivating giants. The 10-parter was filmed across 17 countries and captures rare and first-ever footage using specialized equipment and next-generation filming techniques. Tom Hugh-Jones (Hostile Planet) is executive producing the Plimsoll production with Grant Mansfield (Tiny World) and Martha Holmes (Animal). Big Beasts will premiere next Friday, April 21 on Apple TV+.
Barrett also has Victoria Mahoney’s Netflix film The Old Guard 2 (co-scored with Max Aruj) coming up. She also continues to score NBC’s Law & Order: Organized Crime, which has just been renewed for a fourth season.
