Randy Edelman (Ghostbusters II, Kindergarten Cop, Dragonheart, The Last of the Mohicans, xXx, Gettysburg, Twins, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story) is set to score the upcoming family holiday adventure Athena Saves Christmas. The film is directed by Josh Webber (Never Heard, Secrets of Deception) and stars Paxton Kubitz, Kylie Marshall, Santiago Ramirez, Cuba Gooding Jr, Joseph Baena, Richard Portnow, Mars Callahan, Ludovica Frasca, Glenn Plummer and Kaitlyn Raymond. The movie follows a trio of friends and the titular dog who find themselves on the adventure of a lifetime as they take on a mob boss to save Christmas for their town. Webber also co-wrote the screenplay with Greg Crowder and is producing the project with Tony Mercedes and Henry Penzi (Hell on the Border, Chariot). Athena Saves Christmas is currently shooting in California’s Lake Arrowhead and is expected to be released later this year. (Deadline)
