Craig DeLeon (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, End of the Road, Music, The Last Survivors, Scandalous: The True Story of the National Enquirer) is the composer of the upcoming HBO Max animated series Velma. The show is developed by Mindy Kaling & Charlie Grandy (The Mindy Project, The Sex Lives of College Girls) based on characters from the Scooby-Doo franchise and stars Kaling herself as the voice of the title character, Constance Wu as Daphne, Glenn Howerton as Fred and Sam Richardson as Shaggy. The adult animated comedy tells the origin story of Velma Dinkley, the unsung and under appreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang. Kaling & Grandy are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Animation production with Howard Klein (The Office, Jessica Jones) and Sam Register (Teen Titans, Beware the Batman). Velma will premiere on January 12, 2023 on HBO Max.
