Ian Hultquist (Dickinson, Rosaline, Assassination Nation, Night Teeth, One of Us Is Lying, Good Girls) has recently been recording his score for the upcoming romantic drama Turtles All the Way Down. The film is directed by Hannah Marks (Don’t Make Me Go, Mark, Mary & Some Other People) and stars Isabela Merced, Cree Cicchino, J. Smith-Cameron, Felix Mallard, Judy Reyes, Poorna Jagannathan and Maliq Johnson. The movie is based on the best-selling novel of the same title by John Green (The Fault in Our Stars) and revolves a 17-year-old student who is confronted with fundamental questions about her potential for love, happiness, friendship, and hope in the face of her mental illness when she reconnects with her childhood crush. Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger (Love, Simon, This Is Us) wrote the screenplay. Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey and Isaac Klausner (Smile, The Maze Runner) are producing the New Line Cinema production. Turtles All the Way Down is expected to premiere in 2023 on HBO Max.
