Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French thriller The Origin of Evil (L’origine du mal). The album features the film’s original music composed by Pierre Lapointe (The Vinland Club) & Philippe Brault (Norbourg, Maria Chapdelaine). Also included is the title song by Lapointe & Fishbach (listen to the track below), as well as lead actress Doria Tillier’s cover of Baby Won’t You Please Come Home. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. The Origin of Evil is written and directed by Sébastien Marnier and also stars Laure Calamy, Dominique Blanc, Suzanne Clément, Jacques Weber, Céleste Brunnquell and Véronique Ruggia Saura. The movie revolves around a financially precarious woman who tries to reconnect with the now-wealthy father who abandoned her and his new family. The thriller premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival and is being released in French theaters this Wednesday, October 5.
