Jed Kurzel (Alien: Covenant, The Babadook, Assassin’s Creed, The Mustang) and Kevin Kiner (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Narcos: Mexico, CSI: Miami, Making a Murderer) have composed the original music for the upcoming action thriller Samaritan. The film is directed by Julius Avery and stars Sylvester Stallone, Javon “Wanna” Walton, Pilou Asbæk, Dascha Polanco and Moises Arias. The movie follows a thirteen-year-old who suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor is actually a superhero legend hiding in plain sight. Bragi F. Schut (Escape Room, Season of the Witch) wrote the screenplay. Stallone is also producing the Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) Pictures and Balboa production with Braden Aftergood (Nobody, Siberia). Kurzel has previously collaborated with Avery on the features Son of a Gun and Overlord. Samaritan will premiere on August 26 exclusively on Amazon Prime.
Kiner’s other current/upcoming projects include Disney+’s Star Wars: The Bad Batch & Tales of the Jedi, AMC’s Dark Winds, Showtime’s City on a Hill and HBO Max’s Peacemaker, Doom Patrol & Titans.
