A soundtrack album has been released for the Japanese animated feature The Deer King (Shika no Ou). The album features the original film’s original music composed by Harumi Fuuki (Chronicle of My Mother, The Emperor in August, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list and check out audio samples. A CD version is available to order as an import on Amazon. The Deer King directed by Masashi Ando & Masayuki Miyaji is based on the book series by author Nahoko Uehashi is set in the years following a destructive war, with the Empire of Zol controlling the land and citizens of rival Aquafa. The movie from Production I.G., which premiered at last year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival, just opened in Japanese theaters this past weekend and will be released in the U.S. this year by GKIDS.
