Matthew Compton (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping , Palm Springs) is returning to score the new Peacock original series MacGruber. The show is based on the 2010 feature of the same title (scored by Compton) and stars Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, Sam Elliott, Laurence Fishburne, Billy Zane and Mickey Rourke. The comedy follows the title character who is finally released after rotting in prison for over a decade and must reassemble his old team to take down a mysterious villain from his past. Forte is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Lorne Michaels (30 Rock, Saturday Night Live), John Goldwyn (Dexter, Dopesick), Andrew Singer (A.P. Bio, Schmigadoon!) and Erin David (Up All Night), as well as John Solomon (The Last Man on Earth) and Jorma Taccone (who helmed the movie) who also directed all episodes. MacGruber will premiere this Thursday, December 16 on Peacock.
