Joseph Stephens (Eastbound & Down, Vice Principals, Observe and Report, Flower, Arizona) is the composer of the new HBO Max original series The Sex Lives of College Girls. The show is created by Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project, The Office) & Justin Noble and stars Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Reneé Rapp, Alyah Chanelle Scott, Midori Francis, Chris Meyer, Gavin Leatherwood, Ilia Isorelys Paulino, Lauren Spencer and Renika Williams. The comedy follows four college roommates as they arrive at New England’s prestigious Essex College and live out their new, free lives on campus. Kaling & Noble (who serves as the project’s showrunner) are also executive producing the Kaling International, 3 Arts Entertainment & Warner Bros. Television production with Howard Klein (Jessica Jones, Late Night). Stephens has previously scored the first two seasons of the Kaling-produced Netflix series Never Have I Ever, which has been renewed for a third season. The Sex Lives of College Girls will premiere tomorrow, November 18 on HBO Max.
Stephens also continues to score HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, which will return for its second season on January 9 and is also expected to compose the music for the second season of Amazon’s Upload.
