Last week, Isobel Waller-Bridge (Emma, Fleabag, Vanity Fair, Vita & Virginia, The Split, The ABC Murders) has recorded her score for the upcoming British comedy drama The Fantastic Flitcrofts. The film is directed by Craig Roberts (Just Jim, Eternal Beauty) and stars Mark Rylance, Sally Hawkins, Rhys Ifans, Jake Davies, Christian Lees, Jonah Lees, Mark Lewis Jones and Johann Myers. The movie tells the true story of Maurice Flitcroft, a dreamer and unrelenting optimist, who managed to gain entry to The British Open Golf Championship qualifying in 1976 and subsequently shot the worst round in Open history. Simon Farnaby (Paddington 2, Mindhorn) wrote the screenplay based on his own book The Phantom of the Open, which he co-wrote with Scott Murray. Nichola Martin (Powder Room) is producing the project for Baby Cow Films, alongside Tom Miller (Code 404) for Water & Power Productions, together with Kate Glover. The Fantastic Flitcrofts is currently in post-production.
As previously reported, Waller-Bridge also has the Netflix film Munich starring Jeremy Irons and George MacKay coming up.
