Steve Jablonsky (Transformers, The Island, Deepwater Horizon, Skyscraper, Ender’s Game) is the new composer of the Paramount+ anthology series Why Women Kill. He is scoring the second season of the show created by Marc Cherry and starring Allison Tolman, Nick Frost, Lana Parrilla, B.K. Cannon, Jordane Christie, Matthew Daddario and Veronica Falcón. The new season of the comedy drama is set in 1949 and explores what it means to be beautiful, the hidden truth behind the facades people present to the world, the effects of being ignored and overlooked by society. Cherry is also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Imagine Television Studios’ Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13), Francie Calfo (Genius, Empire) & Samie Kim Falvey (68 Whiskey), Acme Productions’ Michael Hanel & Mindy Schultheis (The Exes, Titus) and arc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man, (500) Days of Summer). Mateo Messina has scored the first season of the show, which premiered on CBS All Access in 2019. Jablonsky has previously collaborated with Cherry on ABC’s Desperate Housewives. Season 2 of Why Women Kill is set to premiere later this year on Paramount+.
