Jazz musician Avishai Cohen is composing the original music for the upcoming historical drama Tel-Aviv/Beirut. The film is directed by Michale Boganim (Land of Oblivion, Odessa…Odessa!) and stars Zalfa Seurat, Sarah Adler, Shlomi Elkabetz, Younès Bouab, Sofia Essaïdi and Maayane Boganim. The movie is set against the backdrop of the Israeli–Lebanese conflict in 1982 and 2006 and tells the story of two families on each side of the border whose fate intertwined because of the war raging in Lebanon. Frédéric Niedermayer (The Things We Say, the Things We Do, Lady J) is producing the project for Moby Dick Films, alongside Emmanuel Giraud (Sauavage/Wild) for Les Films de la Croisade, Thanassis Karathanos & Martin Hampel (The Man Who Sold His Skin) for Twenty Twenty Vision Filmproduktion, Marios Piperides and Janine Teerling (Smuggling Hendrix) for AMP Filmworks and Marie Sonne Jensen (My Life with Jams Dean) for La Voie Lactée. Cohen has previously made his film scoring debut on the 2017 comedy C’est la vie!. Tel-Aviv/Beirut is expected to be released in French theaters this year. (Variety)
