Director Nicolas Bedos and composer Anne-Sophie Versnaeyen are reuniting to co-score the upcoming French spy comedy OSS 117: Red Alert in Black Africa (OSS 117 – Alerte Rouge en Afrique Noire). The film starring Jean Dujardin, Pierre Niney and Fatou N’Diaye is the third installment in the OSS 117 series created by Michel Hazanavicius and follows the titular French secret agent who has been sent on a mission to Africa to help out a president under attack from rebels, covertly led by his young wife. Eric Altmayer & Nicolas Altmayer (By the Grace of God, In the House, Young & Beautiful) are producing the project for Mandarin Production. Ludovic Bource has composed the music for the first two films in the series. Versnaeyen (My Cousin, I Still Hide to Smoke) has previously collaborated with Bedos on the director’s last feature La Belle Époque, which was released in France in 2019 and is currently awaiting a new release date in the U.S., where it will be distributed by 101 Studios. OSS 117: Red Alert In Black Africa is set to be released in French theaters on April 14, 2021.
