Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, Hotel Mumbai, Adrift, The Old Guard, The Art of Racing in the Rain, Patrick Melrose) has composed the original music for the upcoming drama Home. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actress Franka Potente and stars Jake McLaughlin, Kathy Bates and Lil Rel Howery. The movie follows a man who comes home after more than 17 years in prison and finds out that, even after two decades, his small American hometown has not forgotten the atrocity he committed. Jonas Katzenstein, Maximilian Leo (7500, My Happy Family) and David Grumbach (Funan) are producing the Augenschein Film and Bac Films production. Home will premiere later this month at the 2020 Rome Film Festival.
Bertelmann has also recently co-scored Francis Lee’s Ammonite, which premiered last month at the Toronto Film Festival and is expected to be released in late 2020 or early 2021 by Neon. The composer’s other upcoming projects include Joe Penna’s feature Stowaway and the Showtime limited series Your Honor (premiering this December).
